How do we reserve our portrait session or wedding date?
I ask all potential clients to fill out a questionnaire before booking so I can get to know them a little and what they are looking for in a photographer. To reserve a portrait session on our calendar, a signed contract and a $100 deposit is required. For weddings, a $900 deposit and signed contract is required. The remaining balance is due 30 days before your wedding date.
What should we wear to our session?
I always encourage clients to checkout my Pinterest boards to get ideas for their upcoming session. Avoid clashing patterns and neon colors. Ladies, I suggest getting your hair and makeup professionally done, it makes a great difference! For outfit ideas; check out my Pinterest page: https://www.pinterest.com/DahliaHomestead/boards/
Why film? Do you shoot only film?
Nothing can beat the romantic feel and color that film provides. There is an artistic, timeless feel to film that you just can't get with digital. As a photographer, it helps me slow down and perfect my craft. I'm a hybrid photographer so I shoot both film and digital at every wedding.
Can I send you my Pinterest board with posing ideas?
We always want you to trust us enough to capture genuine shots that will tell your story and your story only. Though there are many great shots you can find on Pinterest, they will not come off as genuine if we try to replicate someone else work.
How long will I need you at the wedding?
My packages range from 6-10 hours of coverage. 3-2 weeks before the wedding, we will create a timeline together and figure out the exact amount of time you will need us at the weddings. In my professional opinion, 8 hours is usually plenty of time but additional hours can be purchased.
Do you get the high res photos and the rights to print?
Yes! Each package includes an online gallery where you can download all your images in high resolution and you also receive the rights to print. We highly suggest ordering prints through your gallery or using a website like Shutterfly or Mpix. Please do not use drug stores like CVS or Walmart. They will ruin the quality of your images.
Are we allowed to share our photos on social media?
Yes love seeing our clients share their images on social media! We just ask that you always credit Tonya Espy Photography and please do not use any filters on the photos.
How long have you been a professional photographer?
I've been a photographer since 2013! I use a Nikon D750, D700, F100, and Pentax 645n as my cameras. For lenses I use a Nikkor 50mm 1.4, Sigma 35mm 1.4 and 85mm 1.4, Pentax 75mm 2.8 and for Catholic weddings I use a Nikkor 70-200mm 2.8. During the reception, I use a Nikon SB 910 for my flash.
